While Milt has served on the Prince William County School Board, the Board has:
* opened 18 new schools in 8 years
* in the past four years, under Milt's leadership as Chairman, increased teacher pay by 9.7%, while the operating budget increased only 1.375% and student enrollment increased by 9% with NO LAYOFFS during difficult budgets
* increased graduation rates, SAT scores and narrowed achievement gaps
* implemented full day Kindergarten
* implemented system wide anti-bullying programs, formed the Safe Schools Advisory Council; and
In 2010, Prince William County was voted one of 100 Best Communities for Young People by America's Promise Alliance.
